Thorne is the location of the BMW Group Vehicle Distribution Centre near Doncaster. All BMW vehicles imported through BMW (UK) Ltd are sent to Thorne for checking and preparation before they are distributed to the dealer network.The Vehicle Distribution Centre employs 500 associates.

Products: Four-cylinder petrol engines
BMW Plant Hams Hall plays a crucial role in BMW Group's international production network as the centre of competence for the production of all four-cylinder petrol engines for both BMW and MINI. Around 1000 people are employed at the plant which supplies engines to the MINI production plant at Oxford and to BMW plants in Munich, Regensburg, Leipzig and Dingolfing (Germany), MSF (Magna Steyr Fahrzeug) in Graz (Austria), Rosslyn (South Africa) and Spartanburg (USA) for the BMW 1 Series, 3 Series, 5 series, Z4 Roadster and X3 model ranges.

Softlab Is a UK subsidiary of Softlab GmbH, based in Munich, a company that is wholly owned by BMW AG. As well as providing IT solutions for the BMW Group, Softlab extends its consulting service to external companies including clients across the banking, insurance and telecoms industries. Plant Oxford employs 4,500 associates and builds MINIs to individual customer order on three shifts, seven days a week. Since the market launch of MINI in 2001, production has increased from a planned volume of 100,000 units a year to just under 190,000 in 2004. In February 2005, the BMW Group announced it would invest a further £100 million in expanding and increasing flexibility at the plant by 2007, creating 200 new jobs in the process.

Founded in 1996, BMW Financial Services is based in Hook, Hampshire.The company offers a wide range of options for financing the purchase of BMW and MINI vehicles to both private and corporate buyers. Products: Steel body pressings and sub-assemblies
Plant Swindon produces specific body components for MINI that are then delivered as pre-assembled units to Plant Oxford. In the future, Plant Swindon will play an increasingly important role in the MINI production triangle in the UK as it increases the volume of pressings and sub-assemblies supplied to Plant Oxford. The MINI production triangle comprises Plant Oxford, Plant Swindon and Plant Hams Hall. Plant Swindon employs around 1,100 associates.

BMW (UK) Ltd is a subsidiary of BMW AG and was formed in 1980 with a sales and marketing organisation based in Bracknell, Berkshire. BMW (UK) Ltd is responsible for importing BMW vehicles into the UK and supplying them for sale through its independent dealer network. BMW (UK) Ltd also has responsibility for all national marketing, advertising and aftersales activities for the BMW and MINI brands in the UK. BMW (UK) Ltd employs 500 associates.
